The program is one of 13 Regional Cancer Programs created by Cancer Care Ontario to ensure cancer care is delivered according to province-wide quality standards * oversees the delivery and quality of cancer services for residents of both the Central West and Mississauga Halton regions * online resources
Regional partners include:
Available screening programs:- Breast cancer screening: women aged 40 to 74 can have a mammogram every 2 years through the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP)
- Colorectal cancer screening: men and women aged 50 to 74 should complete a Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) every 2 years
- Cervical cancer screening: women aged 25 to 69 should have a Pap test every 3 years
- Lung cancer screening: individuals aged 55 to 74 with a significant smoking history may be eligible for screening
