Legal advice or representation in four areas of law, including:
Social Assistance and Income Maintenance:
  • Ontario Works (OW)
  • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
  • Old Age Security (OAS)
  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
  • Federal Child Tax Benefits
Housing:
  • evictions
  • Landlord and Tenant Board orders
  • rent subsidy
  • pests
  • harassment and discrimination
  • maintenance issues
  • other Landlord and Tenant matters
Immigration:
  • humanitarian and compassionate applications (H&C)
  • permanent residence applications (PR)
  • sponsorship applications and sponsorship breakdowns
  • loss of status and deportation
  • work permits
  • visitor permits
  • study permits and temporary resident permits
  • issues related to citizenship
Employment:
  • Employment Insurance (EI)
  • wrongful dismissal
  • breaches of the Employment Standards Act
  • harassment and discrimination in the workplace
  • workers' rights

Other services include:
  • limited affidavit and notary services
  • law reform initiatives
  • referrals to community partners for legal matters outside above areas of law
  • public outreach and community development
  • community legal presentations



Frais: None for legal services for eligible clients; however, clients may be asked to pay for court or tribunal fees and medical reports

Office open to walk-in visitors; however they cannot provide on-demand legal services
Admissibilité / population desservie: Financial eligibility: low-income individuals whose family size, income, and assets are within the guidelines set by Legal Aid Ontario
Some legal services such as summary advice and referrals may be available to higher-income individuals; call organization to check eligibility
Residency requirement: South Etobicoke, includes areas east of the Etobicoke Creek, south of Eglinton Ave W, and west of the Humber River
