Description des services:

The Public Education Office of the Oakville Fire Department is responsible for fire safety education.
Programs and events are offered throughout the year include:
School education programs
- available when requested by teachers
- staff will attend schools and provide an education lesson to children
- focus is on grades 4 & 5, however staff are available for younger ages and teenage groups/classes
Cooking for Teens Fire Safety program
Fire safety education for older adults
- a fire safety officer will attend a variety of seniors groups and locations with messages prepared specifically for this group
Fire safety for multicultural groups in the community
- contact the office for special presentations for groups from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
Home Fire Safety Awareness program
- involves visiting homeowners and discussing fire hazards in the home
Station tours
- are available to the community for school children, Beavers, Girl Guides and Boy Scouts
- each year, attempts are made to heighten public awareness of fire safety by hosting a Kick-Off to Fire Prevention Week
- look for this event taking place in Oakville at the end of September
